Erhard & Söhne

Post by vintage-originals on Tue Mar 25, 2014 12:16 pm

i've forgotten that i've bought this one as well...
i think it might have been for cigarettes
it's hallmarked underneath with the erhard & söhne sign
the company was founded in 1844 by gottlieb erhard and his two sons in schwäbisch gmünd, germany...
unfortunately i can't find the designer of this one...
it's not the erhard & söhne standard stuff....
could it be a design wolfgang von wersin ???
i don't know who else designed for them...

isolating jug "Thermolord", design Wolfgang von Wersin 1956/58, produced in 1,1l / 0,75l / 0,5l, initially with a base ring, post 1960 like on the pic. Came in chrome (here 1,1 + 0,75), silver-plated (0,5) or gold-plated, every piece with a series number on the backside of the handle.

strange it is indeed, I have found now my 8th or 9th and one 1,1 (I use it every day) I have damaged by pushing it from the table. Luckily I found another 2 1,1l, a bit of reserve.
